 My educational training was undertaken in Nigeria, up to my doctorate degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture. My research focus is on Fish Breeding, Genetics, Aquaculture Systems, Larviculture, Nutrition, and Aquaculture potentials of some fish species. I have supervised several B. Agric. Tech Dissertations in Fisheries and Aquaculture, 22 M. Tech. Theses in Fisheries and Aquaculture, and 11 Ph.D. Theses in Fisheries and Aquaculture. Some of my Ph.D. students are now Professors. I currently supervise many students, including 6 Ph.D. students. I have 84 publications in Fisheries and Aquaculture, comprising books, journal articles, refereed conference proceedings, and peer-reviewed books of abstracts. I am involved in the training of skilled manpower in Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology with comprehensive knowledge to be self–reliant in fish production. I am also involved in carrying out goal-oriented research in fisheries and aquaculture, and offering to the public the results of research output and fostering of practical application of the results. I am a practicing fish farmer who is actively and effectively involved in sustainable finfish production. As a diligent research scientist, I have received scholarships, awards and fellowships in my career. I enjoyed the Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarships for my M.Sc degree programme in University of Ibadan, Ibadan; FUTA Senate Research Grants for some of my research projects; CTA Netherlands travel grants to Norway; UNESCO/ICRO training grants to Charles University, Czech Republic; MASHAV fellowship for training at Hebrew University, Israel; TETFund conference support to attend the World Aquaculture Society in Czech Republic. I am a fellow of the African Scientific Institute. I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Fisheries Society of Nigeria, World Aquaculture Society and Association of Nigerian Fisheries Scientists, among others. I actively participate in university administration. I serve in many capacities including: Coordinator, Fisheries and Hydrobiology option of SLT, FUTA (2004 – 2007); Sub-Dean School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (2004-2006), Head of Department, Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology (2015-2018); Member, Fish Farm Committee, Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (2010); Chairman, FUTA, Agricultural Machinery and Mechanisation Management Committee (2013–2015); Member FUTA Sustainability Committee (2013–2015); Chairman, Replication of Songhai Farm in FUTA (2014); Member, FUTA Committee on Facility Verification to Crown Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti-State (2018) and Member of University Senate since 2010. I made significant contributions to community development. I served as Resource Personnel to Ekiti State Agric. Development Project, Ikole. Ekiti (2001-2003); Member, Sectoral Working Group on Development of Food and Agriculture Biotechnology Research and Development Agenda for Nigeria (2002); Resource Personnel to Ondo State Agricultural Development Project, Akure (2003-2013); Resource Personnel to Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forest Resources, Department of Fisheries, Akure (2006-2014); Resource Personnel to IFAD/FGN Community–Based Natural Resources Management Programme Ondo State (2006-2013); Resource Personnel to Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) (2007-2009).
